Success Story: Nick U

Before coming to The Last House I could not imagine a life without partying. From day one, I was thinking to myself that if I could make it through wilderness, I can make it through this. My plan was to tough it out and then try to convince my parents to rescue me, like I had done countless times before. It took me a couple months to really commit to the program. I saw guys changing before my eyes and it made me believe in what was happening. Once I committed to the program, I began to recognize my patterns, I started to evolve as a man, and I started to feel better. Working the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous at The Last House made me realize that my life could be better without drugs and alcohol. I realized that I did not have to have certain people in my life if they were not positive forces for me. My life today is better than it has ever been. I have a much better relationship with my parents, I can be open an honest with people, I have more friends than I want, and my parents are no longer suffering because of my actions.
